Just heard the news that ‘ON BOARD FLIGHT 666’ is No.1 on the Amazon pre-sale book chart!  Great news but starting to feel the pressure.  Just shot Hammers latest cover and the album artwork shots for Rise to Remain. Not sure whether I am coming or going at the moment!

IRON MAIDEN ‘ON BOARD FLIGHT 666’ publishes October 20th 2011

Well it has been a while hasn’t it! Well I am back.


Here is the preview to the new IRON MAIDEN book out in October.  It has nearly killed me putting everything together but we are on the final stages. It is a hard back book rammed with 250 pages of pictures from the last 4 years of touring with Maiden. From  Somewhere Back in Time to The Final Frontier.  The book covers all the world tours with Ed force One, featuring South America, Australia, Indonesia and also includes content from North America and Europe.  It will be available everywhere from October 20th 2011, published by Orion and priced at £25.  The hard back version of ON BOARD FLIGHT 666 is available now to pre-order on Amazon, Waterstones, Book Depository, Play or WH Smiths.

The Final Frontier

Iron Maiden’s 15th studio album is at last unleashed. Mid-week sales suggest it will be No.1 in the UK chart by the weekend. The photo in the artwork was taken in Ft Lauderdale back in May. My inspiration was from the classic scenes in Close Encounters.

I felt the band in sillhouette would have so much more impact than the usual casual band shot. I had heard the record and seen the album artwork so I had a feel of the vibe. It was the last shot to be done during an afternoon of promo pictures at TYE studios and I took a bit of a risk leaving it until the end. I wasn’t sure the bands attention span would hold and I was running way over time. The band are standing on 3 steel platforms in a black-out studio, backlit with 3 heads and a smoke machine. The image is in full colour, but shot with Tungsten film with daylight flash giving an overwhelming blue cast.
